Direct patient care (approx. 95% of role) through diagnostic and interventional radiology services, including:
Diagnostic Radiology
Ultrasound
CT & MRI
Nuclear Medicine
Interventional Radiography (IR)
Consultation with referring clinicians to ensure efficient, appropriate patient workups
Communicating test results clearly to patients and providers
Performing post-procedure evaluations and follow-up care
Providing discharge education and continuity of care instructions
Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
Certification: Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
Training & Competence: Documented proficiency and continuing education in radiology subspecialties such as:
Abdominal/GU, Breast Imaging, Cardiovascular, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Interventional Radiology, and Authorized User Radiology Physician Services
Technical Skills: Fluency in English; proficiency in clinical documentation, patient safety standards, and VA medical protocols
